INTRODUCING OUR NEW CHAIRMAN

17/06/08

By BILLY SHAW

HARLOW Town Football Club is delighted to unveil Simon Morgan as the new club Chairman.

Morgan steps up from his previous role as Vice-Chairman with immediate effect, to a position which has been vacant since 27th October last year when previous Chairman Steve Ray announced his retirement.

Gary Lewis, Managing Director of Harlow Town, is excited by the prospect of Morgan’s leadership: “I believe that Simon will make an excellent Chairman and will continue the sterling efforts made by the recent holders of this prestigious position in helping the club to progress both on and off the pitch,” he said.

“I know that Simon will undertake a very much ‘hands on’ role and his energy and vision will help to ensure the club’s continued success.”

Morgan joined the Hawks as Vice-Chairman in September 2005 when the club still resided at the old Sportscentre Ground.

Following the step up, Bill Wiseman, one of the club’s Directors, has accepted the position of Vice-Chairman.

Wiseman joined the Board of Directors at Barrows Farm during the close-season period in 2007, and Managing Director Lewis is again optimistic: “Bill’s wealth of experience and knowledge of the game at this level will prove to be of immense benefit both to Simon and to Harlow Town Football Club.”

Meanwhile, Morgan’s predecessor Steve Ray, who announced his retirement before the Hawks’ home game against AFC Wimbledon in front of over 800 fans last year, has high hopes for the club’s future: “This is excellent news. Simon will make a fantastic Chairman and it’s exactly what the club needs.”
