FORGET stepping up to face a penalty kick – Hawks goalkeeper Michael Dumoulin could
soon be stepping before the dreaded Simon Cowell on the latest series of ITV’s hit
show X-
The young keeper, who sings regularly at Barrows Farm’s entertainment evenings, got through to the next round of the competition after successfully auditioning at the weekend.
“I think he deserves a break and we’re all really proud of him. He’s worked hard this year, both on the pitch and off,” said his mum Jill Dumoulin, who also helps out behind the scenes at Harlow.
After spending all day at the 02 Arena in London, Michael’s rendition of Michael Buble’s song ‘Moondance’ landed him a coveted golden ticket into the next stage.
The next phase of the competition kicks off on 4th June, when he will be singing at the Emirates Stadium.
For those who still haven’t heard him singing, Michael will next be on stage at Barrows Farm on Saturday 14th June.
Tickets will be £5 each on the night, or available from the club in advance.
