KENNY SWINGS INTO ACTION!

15 May 2008

By BILLY SHAW

PLAYER of the year Kenny Davis was among the non league stars raising money for charity at a golf day on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old right-sided player took part in an event put on by Platinum Sports Management, which raised £2,300 for sufferers of Multiple Sclerosis.

He was on the winning home team in an “England versus Rest of the World” style tournament, with the latter side being headed up by Reading’s Ibrahima Sonko.

And it was Kenny’s playing partner Craig Alcock, a defender at Yeovil Town, who won the individual tournament with an impressive 50 point total under the Stapleford scoring system.

Aldershot goalkeeper Nikki Bull achieved joint second spot with Crewe Alexandra’s Billy Jones, who both notched 44 points.

“Nikki had a great day. He came second on the individual game, and Kenny Davis was paired up with Craig Alcock and they had a decent game too,” said former Hawks Director of Football Tommy Cunningham.

Cunningham, one of the partners at Platinum Sports Management, also took part, as did ex-Harlow midfielder Dave Lee.

“I’ve had loads of people calling up saying what a lovely day they had, and it’s all been worthwhile to raise £2,300 for charity,” added organiser Gary Saunders.
