ENFIELD TOWN RES 0,

HARLOW TOWN RES 4

Capital Football League, eastern division 15/04/08

By BILLY SHAW

MICHAEL Greene and first-teamer Danny Green notched respective braces as Hawks Reserves beat close rivals Enfield Town 4-0 at Brimsdown.

The unrelated duo struck in the second half against a young Town side, who to their credit made Harlow skipper Michael Dumoulin work hard to retain his clean sheet in goal.

Leon Lalite, who was suspended for the first team’s home defeat to Staines Town the previous Saturday, played a half, but was withdrawn at the break as a precautionary measure.

Shaun Gliddon, Lewis Baker and player/manager Kevin Warren also retained their places.

Following a mistake by Warren, Dumoulin rushed off his line to deny a charging Enfield Town attacker in a one-on-one situation on 28 minutes.

A through ball from Danny Green sent Michael Greene racing away from Town’s defence five minutes later, but his chip went over the keeper before striking the bar.

Danny Green opened the scoring 10 minutes after the restart, tucking past goalkeeper Jordane Blake at close range, before his defensive efforts at the other end saw him head the ball off his own line following a header from Town’s Reece Wilson.

Fast-moving forward Michael Greene made it 2-0 on 70 minutes when he latched onto a ball from Shaun Gliddon and ran on to slot home.

A well worked move saw Danny Green notch his second of the evening on 78 minutes when he ran down the centre of the field before exchanging neat passes with Jon Olejnik and striking past Blake in his stride.

Town’s keeper came out to dispossess Olejnik in the dying moments, only for Michael Greene to steal the ball on the edge of the box and slot into an empty net to complete his brace.
