HARLOW TOWN RES 4,

LEYTON RES 0

Capital Reserve League, 13/02/08

By BILLY SHAW

KEVIN Warren’s reserves got back to winning ways in thick fog at Barrows Farm.

The Hawks put four past Leyton in the capital league, with James Bunn netting a first half brace.

Returning goalkeeper James Hasell was little troubled by the Leyton attack in Wednesday night’s fixture, but it was a different story for his opposite number Sam Tanner.

Barely five minutes in, a Mark Taylor cross left the visiting defence static, presenting Scott Curley with a straight-forward tap-in, the midfielder beating the offside trap and shooting in unmarked from eight yards out.

Danny Hill was hauled down by Ishmael Osomor in the area on 25 minutes, with James Bunn stepping up to strike the resulting spot kick high into the centre of the net.

The frontman then doubled his tally with a crisp volley after Dean Williams had burst into the area from the right on 39 minutes, sending Warren’s men in at the break with a comfortable 3-goal cushion.

Dee Okojie curled a shot past Harlow keeper Hasell’s left-hand post mid-way through the second period, before Anthony Charlton scored at the other end in fine style.

He collected a short clearance from Leyton stopper Sam Tanner, who was under pressure from Dean Williams, before firing delightfully into the top corner from 30 yards out, although Tanner did manage to get a hand to it.

The visitors went in search of a late consolation but their target was blocked, first by Hasell who made a firm stop from Okojie, then by defender Lewis Baker, who scooped the ball away from an open goal after substitute Chetin Ali had rounded the keeper and got a weak shot away from a tight angle.
