Hawkeye takes the bungee run contestants under his wing

BOUNCING AROUND ON THE BANK HOLIDAY!

26/08/08

ALMOST 600 people turned out to support the Hawks’ game on Bank Holiday Monday, with the club’s fun day turning out to be successful once again.

Many children were present, including a large number of Harlow Town Youth players, who were invited along with their families for the afternoon.

Youngsters got to try their luck on a giant inflatable bungee run, operated by the club in association with RLG Leisure, the object being to run as far as possible before being hauled back by a bungee rope!

There was also an opportunity to take penalty kicks against Harlow Town first-teamer Daryl Doolan, and club mascot Hawkeye.

Raffle prizes were also given away throughout the afternoon, including a pair of goalkeeping gloves signed by Spurs legend Pat Jennings.

First team kit supplier Joma also donated four pairs of football boots to give away, while other prizes included Paradise Wildlife Park tickets and a signed football from the Hawks players.

A club spokesman said: “We were very pleased with the attendance figure, and a large number of travelling fans made for a great atmosphere.

“The figure of 594 people should be our target on a regular basis now.”
